Channels vs. Handles
The configuration of WDRC channels plays a crucial role in S.M.A.R.T. Technology’s ability to preserve the “naturalness” of sound. S.M.A.R.T. Technology provides 16 compression channels, that are adjustable via 9 fitting handles. These handles are mapped to the 16 compression channels through the Accufit interpolation algorithm. The channel structure and filter skirts are designed
to increase channel independence, contributing to
the transparent reactions in our S.M.A.R.T. Technology.
Channels are 375 Hz wide in the five lowest frequencies
and 750 Hz wide in the eleven upper frequencies. Filter
skirts are steeper, allowing gain differences of up
to 40 dB per octave. |
