Feedback Management System
Innova’s Feedback Management System takes a multi-layered approach to dealing with the problem of feedback.

Hardware:
Innova uses a new microphone design that is less prone to shock and feedback-related problems.
The microphones are placed perpendicular to the receiver, eliminating sympathetic vibrations that can cause feedback.

S.M.A.R.T. technology:
The linear line segment of S.M.A.R.T. Technology’s I/O function provides maximum gain for important soft speech cues while limiting the feedback associated with high gain applied to low intensity signals. 

Feedback Canceller:
Innova’s Feedback Canceller uses a counter-phase signal to remove feedback before it becomes audible.

Automatic Gain Adjuster:
The Automatic Gain Adjuster, located in the Feedback Manager in the EXPRESSfit Fitting System, automatically locates frequencies where persistent feedback occurs, and reduces the gain in those frequencies accordingly.

User Controlled Retraining:
Innova provides the patient with a method of updating the stored Feedback Canceller’s counter-phase values, should the physical feedback path change during use. Simply push and hold the program button for 4 seconds, then remain quiet while the retraining sequence is in progress. When the process is complete, the newly calculated values are stored and ready for immediate use.
