The
Noise Limiting System combines the benefits of Gain
Dependent Expansion and Adaptive Noise Reduction to
combat both low- and high-level noise sources.
Gain Dependent Expansion addresses low-level noise,
such as circuit noise or ambient noise. The amount
of attenuation applied to low-level noise varies based
on each patient’s gain setting at each frequency,
with lower-gain settings receiving more expansion
and higher-gain settings receiving less expansion.
Adaptive Noise Reduction attacks both low- and high-level
steady-state noise sources. As the input level of
the noise increases, the attenuation of the noise
becomes more aggressive.
